No support from John Swinney following 2017 tragedy at school

It has emerged that the local MSP, John Swinney, failed to support staff traumatised by their involvement in managing the tragedy that took place in the school in February 2017.

According to both Chris Holmes (HT until April 2018 ) and Bill Colley (HT from April 2018 until closure) there were no messages of support or contact between the school and his office during this time, despite the fact that he was the local MSP representing them.

Bill Colley has declined to comment on this failure other than to state during his filmed interview that the suicide had a profound effect on staff members and on the behaviour of the local authority which took the decision to end the student’s placement
